We are excited about the future with this Verband Premium mare!

Lyra was purchased by CGF in partnership with Branley Ash Sportponies as a recently imported weanling. She has spent the last several years growing up in Canada.

In June of her 3rd year, she began under saddle training with Emma from Lordy Dressage, Ontario Canada. In September, she was presented to Westfalen NA for the Mare Performance test (MPT) and acceptance into the mare breeding book. Not only was she accepted, she was awarded PREMIUM status, enabling her to be titled. So exciting for a mare so young and green under saddle.

Lyra is sired by Numerus Clauses, a top young pony stallion bred in Germany, now residing in Australia. He was awarded the Champion Premium Licensed stallion of 2016 with a stunning score of 10 for his trot.  It is very rare at a 2 1/2 yr old licensing to have all five judges award a score of 10; really quite remarkable.  Judges said they had never seen a stallion trot in such an elastic and spectacular fashion, yet remain so relaxed and well behaved.

Clausus was awarded a score of 9 for overall impression.  He was also awarded a Gold Medal from the German National Federation (FN).  These medals are rarely presented and are only awarded to high scoring stallions of special quality. Since moving to Australia, Clausus has sired many top quality foals with the youngest just starting under saddle.

Lyra’s dam is States Premium mare, Hesselteichs Lilyfee II, a top producer of ponies in Germany. Lyra is her 2nd daughter to be awarded Premium status from the Verband. Lillyfee’s sire is pony jumping legend Lucky Lao II, bringing the critical combination of dressage and jumping lines together.

For 2022, Lyra is in foal to Deja D’or (Dornik B x Cassini) and this foal is already spoken for. She will join CGF in Autumn of that year. Please stay tuned for more information on our Lyra lady!
